Jeg mener bestemt dette tidsskriftet bør beholde sitt nivå, nivå 2. Dette skyldes i særdeleshet begrunnelsen for å heve tidsskriftet fra nivå 1 til nivå 2 i 2021, se kommentar under. Dessuten er det også et argument at det er relativt få tidsskrift på nivå 2 i matematikkdidaktikk.
Jeg mener tidsskriftet bør heves til Nivå 2. Begrunnelse:
Research in Mathematics Education (RME) is an international journal, with a full peer review system. Its current standing as one of the top journals in the field of mathematics education, is noted in a review by Steven R. Williams and Keith R. Leatham (2017) Journal Quality in Mathematics Education, Journal for Research in Mathematics Education Vol. 48, No. 4, 369–396.

Past editors include Professor Tim Rowland (Professor 2 at NTNU, and now an advisory editor), and Professor Yvette Solomon (Adjunct Professor at OsloMet University, and editor of the journal from 2013-2017). The advisory editors and the Editorial Board together comprise 27 international scholars who are prominent in the field and are active participants in the peer review process. The journal publishes peer-reviewed articles from a wide range of international scholars, including authors in the USA, Canada, Israel, Europe and Scandinavia as well as the UK. Recent statistics show an increase in citations and downloads over the last 3 years, with a Scopus Citescore of 0.39 in 2017.

RME is now ranked in Quartile 1 for both Education and Mathematics from 2016. Norway features in the top 10 countries now for journal downloads, but Norway does not feature in the top 10 countries that submit to RME, suggesting that Norwegian authors are missing out on this Q1 journal.


RME publishes 3 issues each year, of which one is a Special Issue. Guest editors over the last 5 years have included eminent scholars in the field:

2015: 17 (2) ‘Mathematics teaching: Tales of the unexpected’, edited by Tim Rowland (Cambridge University), Jeremy Hodgen (University of London) and Yvette Solomon (Manchester Metropolitan University/Oslo Met University).

Jeg foreslår at Research in Mathematics Education (RME) løftes fra nivå 1 til nivå 2, innenfor matematikk, ikke pedagogikk og utdanning, der det nå står. RME et er et høyt ansett tidsskrift i matematikkdidaktikk med god andel av norske bidragsytere. Det er utgitt siden 1999, tre hefter per år.

This journal should be at level 2. It has been published for nearly 20 years and is now rated as one of the top journals in the field of mathematics education, see review by Steven R. Williams and Keith R. Leatham (2017). Journal Quality in Mathematics Education. Journal for Research in Mathematics Education Vol. 48, No. 4, 369–396. The scientific quality of papers published within the journal is very high with a rigorous review process. The main editors are top level international researchers, two are currently at professor 2 positions in Norway (Tim Rowland at NTNU and Yvette Solomon at OsloMet). The Editorial Board has one member based at a Norwegian university (John Monaghan at UiA) and Advisory Editors include who is Kenneth Ruthven Prof. Emeritus University of Cambridge and Prof. 2 at UiA. Also one member of the international advisory board is Prof 2 at UiA (Barbara Jaworski). Thus the Journal has very strong links with the mathematics education research community.

My comment seems to have been deleted. To reiterate: the impact factor for this journal is currently 3.1, and this is the highest it has ever been. The journal hovers around the boundary of Q1 and Q2 in the fields of business and planning/development. I'm not sure where the quoted figure of 4.6 comes from.
Point of information: According to JCR this journal's current impact factor is 3.1 and in previous years it has been more like 2.6, so I'm not entirely sure where this figure of 4.6 is coming from. It is ranked in Q2 for Business and Q1 for Planning and Development.
