A more usability register
– In the first round with improvements, we have had focus on doing the website more usability, explains project leader for the Norwegian Register, Monica Roos in the Norwegian Directorate for Higher Education and Skills.
The navigation has been changed and it is easier to see when there are decision meetings and which cases that were discussed at the decision meetings. At “My page” structure and concepts has been simplified. The filtering options in the search has also been improved.
The new websites has been prepared in close dialogue with scholars and staff that work with research support.
– Our goal is to secure that the Norwegian Register always meet the scholars needs for quality assessment of research, at the same time as we effectively handle big amounts of information and technology, says Roos.
Updates in line
Future updates include improvements of the search function, the administration system and easier ways to update information.
– We wish for instance to make it possible for users to update to correct URL directly on a publication channel, instead of sending us an email, says Roos.
– We want to collect more relevant information about the publication channels, like information about article processing charges and to mark Diamant-journals. We also want to connect the website Norwegian Publication Indicator (NPI) with the Norwegian Register, for easier nomination to level 2.
In addition, erih+ is modernised in the same process.
Open for feedback
In the implementation phase, errors and lacks might occur, and you are encouraged to report to publiseringskanaler@hkdir.no if something at the webpages does not work as expected.
– Your feedback is valuable for us and contributes to continuously improvements of the Norwegian Register, concludes Roos.
