Who and what is the Norwegian Register?
The Norwegian Register for Scientific Journals, Series and Publishers is owned and hosted by the Norwegian Directorate for Higher Education and Research. The Norwegian Register’s function is to give quality assured information about academic journals, series and publishers.

The Directorate also owns and host erih+. erih+ is the European index for journals within social sciences and humanities. Together with erih+, we work to give useful and good information about the academic journals, series and publishers indexed in our registers.
We consider suggestions for new publication channels and set them to approved o not approved as academic publication channels. We update the information about the publication channels, and we do as best as we can to keep unserious publication channels away from the registers.
What is an academic publication channel?
- A publication channel is journals, series, and publishers.
- An academic publication channel is journals, series and publishers approved at level 1 or level 2 in the Norwegian Register for Scientific Journals, Series and Publishers.
