The Directorate by the Norwegian Register, will talk about how the Norwegian Register works to improve its services in line with national and international demands. One example is the shift towards support of locally run journals to a greater extent than today.

The Norwegian Directorate for Higher Education and Skills is the owner of the Norwegian Register for Scientific Journals, Series and Publishers and erih+. At the Nordic Workshop on Bibliometrics and research politics in Reykjavik this year, the Directorate will talk about the Norwegian Register.

The Norwegian Register participates on a seminar arranged by Norsk tidsskriftsforening, Universitetsforlaget and Scandinavian University Press. 

Hva et vitenskapelig tidsskrift er, fremstår innlysende og vurderes i Norge ut fra et sett definerte kriterier. Samtidig forekommer avvikende definisjoner, blant annet begrunnet i format, artikkeltyper, redaksjonelle rutiner mm. Kan eller bør et vitenskapelig tidsskrift være én ting, og hvilke konsekvenser har definisjonsmylderet for det akademiske arbeidet?
