Does the publication channel allow open access publishing?
We wish to make it easy for you to identify journals in the Norwegian Register that will yield publication points and at the same time fulfils the different demands about open access.
We have gathered some information at the journal’s information page in the Norwegian Register that will help you in identifying journals with open access.
DOAJ
We mark journals that are indexed in Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ). DOAJ is an international index for quality assured open access journals, with information about article processing charges etc.
Journals approved on level 1 and level 2 and that are indexed in DOAJ, can yield publication points by publishing in them. At the same time, they fulfil the criteria for the national guidelines about open access.
In the search result, you will see which journals that are indexed in DOAJ. When you go to the journal’s information page, you can follow the DOAJ link from the journal to its information page in DOAJ.
Sherpa Romeo
We mark journals that are indexed in Sherpa Romeo. Sherpa Romeo is an index that has an overview over the publishers’ guidelines for open access for the journal.
By checking the information about a journal in Sherpa Romeo, you can check your possibilities for filing and make a version of your publication accessible in an open archive.
In the search result, you will see which journals that are indexed in Sherpa Romeo. When you go to the journal’s information page, you can follow the Sherpa Romeo link from the journal to its information page in Sherpa Romeo.
Publishing agreements
We mark journals that are part of a publishing agreement.
In the search result, you will see which journals that are included in a publishing agreement. When you go to the journal’s information page, you can see which type of agreement it is and if your institution is part of the agreement.
