The current list contains all the indexed publication channels in the Norwegian Register.

The current list contains real-time data. This means that the list is always up to date.

Follow the links under to download current list for journals and series and/or current list for publishers. You can open the list in a spreadsheet program like Calc or Excel.

When you save the list in standard format for the spreadsheet, you can for instance add formatting, freeze panes, top row or first column, change the column widths and filter data.

Avoid error in import and incorrect character coding on the titles

When you open the list in Excel, you can get incorrect character coding on the titles. You solve that by doing the following:

  1. Right-click to download and save the list.
  2. Open a new Excel file.
  3. Press on the banner "Data" in the empty Excel file.
  4. Press on "From Text/CSV" and choose the current list that you saved in step one. Press on "Import".
  5. In the drop-down menu under "File Origin", select "65001: Unicode (UTF-8)".
  6. In the drop-down menu under "Delimiter", select "Semicolon".
  7. In the drop-dow menu under "Data Type Detection", select "Based on entire dataset".
  8. Press on "Load".

You should now be able to see the whole list in the document.

When is the list updated?

The levels on the publication channels are updated on set times throughout the year. Other information is updated continuously.

January/February

  • Publication channels on level 2 are shown with the level they will have next year.
  • The Norwegian Register is updated with new publication channels that was considered for inclusion at the decision meeting for level 1 in January.

June/July

  • The Norwegian Register is updated with new publication channels that was considered for inclusion at the decision meeting for level 1 in June.

October/November

  • The Norwegian Register is updated with new publication channels that was considered for inclusion at the decision meeting for level 1 in October.
