Login to commentGjennom en undersøkelse av nesten 150 artikler nylig publisert i Bioengineered har vi grunn til å fastslå at de såkalte papirmøllene bruker dette tidsskriftet hyppig. Denne konklusjonen har vi basert på følgende:
Nær sagt ingen av de rapporterte artiklene i PubPeer har blitt besvart av forskerne bak artiklene
(forfatterne får mulighet til å respondere da e-post sendes til korresponderende forfatter).
Artiklene innholder alvorlig feil i alt fra metodebeskrivelser og presentasjon av data. Feilene er av en slik karakter at de tyder på at erfarne forskere ikke står bak artiklene. Det som går igjen er feil bruk av PCR-primere og antistoffer i Western blotting.
Videre finner vi mange rare formulering, som er typisk for papirmølleprodukter.
Mange artikler mangler godkjennelse for bruk av pasientdata
Artiklene viser en høy grad av selvsitering (ikke uvanlig med 10 siteringer av andre Bioengineered-artikler, ofte fra samme volum).
Taylor & Francis viser ingen vilje til å reagere.
